Jacob Eisinger/Yippiehey

Jacob Eisinger aka Yippiehey is known for his three-dimensional typography. During his artistic development he experimented with many different techniques. Only at the age of 26 he dared to take the next step and began to study graphic design. During his internship at “I Love Dust“ he started to create images with 3-D software Cinema 4D. His extraordinary talent for this digital technique paved his way into a professional future, and since 2008 Jacob Eisinger has been living and working as a freelance illustrator and designer in Hamburg.

His illustrative focus lies on three-dimensional illustration and animation.

First Jacob sketches out a rough concept on paper or in Photoshop. – „This makes it easier to model my image in 3-D afterwards.“ – To make the image seem as realistic as possible, he adds a lot of detail like shadows and colours during the texturing and rendering process. – “I especially love to shape single letters or whole letterings.” –  For his typographic masterpieces Jacob likes to use unexpected materials like clay, helium balloons or electronic card modules. Seen through virtual reality glasses his illustration are even more impressive and realistic.

2018 Jacob Eisinger yet again took part in “36 Days of Type”, where artists are invited to express their individual view of the alphabet 36 days in a row. The Hamburg native designes every letter as a building – A became an airport, D was a diner and P a pizza place.

For Washington Post Magazine Jacob Eisinger worked on an especially profound topic: He created a character cover for the “The Dream of the Ice Cream Man“ issue. Here the ice cream van is a symbol for childhood dreams, happiness and a carefree life – if you miss the van, you miss your chance. With his allegorical illustration Jacob reflects on the American dream between the pursuit of happiness and the struggle to survive.

Despite his special love for typography, Jacob Eisinger is happy to create exceptional 3-D illustrations for a wide range of projects!
