After growing up in the conservative South of Germany, Yannick de la Pêche wasted some time studying maths and management before finding his path to illustration. He particularly enjoys its interplay between craft and creativity. – „Illustration enables me to constantly reinvent and develop myself. Depicting objects and relationships that are usually invisible is especially appealing to me!”

Yannick de la Pêche loves Pop and subculture visuals of bygone eras and the internet, music and films are constant sources of inspiration. Through the conscious use of a reduced but vibrant colour palette his images often reference the handmade charme of manual printing techniques. Influenced by graffiti and old comics, his artworks’ aesthetic combined with realistic and surreal elements creates a unique atmosphere.

In addition to his analogue sketches, writing down his thoughts and associations plays a big part in Yannick’s creative process. The illustrator always strives to convey the right atmosphere in his images, to find original ways of representation and to emphasize interesting contrasts.

Besides his work at the computer Yannick de la Pêche enjoys painting big walls, and in future he wants to dedicate more time to designing murals.
