From concept, design, typography, illustration and art direction to trade fair and exhibition design – desres design studio consists of specialists from different disciplines in the print and digital media sector.

Head of operations is Michaela Kessler form Frankfurt. School friends got her into graphic design, which she studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in Frankfurt. After graduation Michaela stayed loyal to her hometown, where she also founded desres design studio.

According to the graphic designer, the secret to every creative process is simple – just get started! Her head, filled with ideas, is Michaela Kessler’s most important tool. Inspired by her travels as well as the everyday, she creates exclusively digital artworks at her Mac OS.

Her style is fresh, modern and memorable. Typography is one of her big passions. – „I’m fascinated by content analysis in combination with the typeface, readability and intuitive perception.”

The interim presentation of IBA Heidelberg was an exciting project: Michaela Kessler developed the corporate design including cover image, posters and business cards for the international building exhibition that runs until 2022.

Michaela is especially proud of her collaboration with paper manufacturer Fedrigoni, which saw her illustrating the visual book „Dangerous Places“ for a gallery edition. The creative pattern book shows the entirety of the Fedrigoni paper collection for HP Indigo digital printing, including white ink printing and hot-foil embossing. – “This project keeps making me happy, because it is every designer’s dream to work for a great paper manufacturer with a big budget for beautiful paper finishes!”

Lately Michaela Kessler has been working a lot with the sport sector, for example the guilty76 Racing Team or the cycling race Eschborn-Frankfurt. This has developed an unusual wish: „There are a lot of windsurfers at my favourite beaches in the South of France, and I enjoy watching them on the waves. I would love to design sails for surfboards one day!“
